Composition: Each
tablet contains Nimodipine 30 mg.
Description: Bredin is an L type cerebro-selective
calcium channel blocker. It inhibits voltage regulated and receptor
mediated calcium channels, thus blocking the entry of calcium
intracellularly, thereby saving the cell from the extensive influx of
calcium which causes cell death. It dilates arteries in spasm,
following subarachnoid hemorrhage, thus improving the blood flow to
the respective area of the brain.
It improves collateral circulation and keeps the
penumbra alive after acute ischeamic stroke.
Indications: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH),
Ischemic stroke, Cerebral dysfunction.
Dosage: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH): 2 tablets 4
hourly for 21 days. Cerebral dysfunction : 1 tablet T.I.D. or as
recommended by the physician. Ischemic stroke: 1 tablet Q.I.D. for
10-15 days.
How supplied: Bredin is available in a blister
