Citicoline 250 mg/2 ml. prefilled injections
Description: Citicoline
(Cytidine-5-Diphosphocholine or CDP-choline) is a key intermediary in
the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine a phospholipid, an important
component of cell membranes. When administered exogenously,
CDP-choline is hydrolyzed to choline and cytidine. These two important
components contribute to metabolic functions such as the formation of
phospholipid, nucleic acids, proteins and acetylcholine (Ach).
Indications: Neuronal damage due to ischemic,
hemorrhagic strokes and after head injury or brain surgery.
Rehabilitation of patients with hemeplegia following stroke.
Dosage: 250 mg BID, administered intramuscularly
or intravenously or through infusion, ideally for 4-6 weeks but at
least for 10 days.
How supplied: Neurocoline injection is available in pre-filled
syringe system containing Citicoline 250 mg/2ml.
