Composition: Novertigo in tablet form contains Cinnarizine 25 mg.

Description: Novertigo is the brand name for cinnarizine which is a selective calcium entry blocker, belonging to group IV of the calcium antagonists (WHO-classification). Novertigo has an anti-histamine (H1) effect. Cinnarizine inhibits stimulation of vestibular system, which results in suppression of nystagmus and other autonomic disturbances. Acute episodes of vertigo can be prevented.

Indications and Dosage:Maintenance therapy for symptoms of labyrinthine disorders, including vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, nystagmus, nausea and vomiting. Prophylaxis of migraine. Maintenance therapy for symptoms of cerebrovascular origin, including dizziness, ear buzzing (tinnitus), vascular headache.Prophylaxis of motion sickness.

Dosage for adults and children over the age of 12 years.

Peripheral circulatory disorders: 2-3 tablets of Novertigo 25 mg t.i.d.

Disorders of balance: 1 tablet of Novertigo 25 mg t.i.d.

Novertigo should preferably be taken after meals. The maximum recommended dosage should not exceed 225 mg ((9 tablets) daily. As the effect of Novertigo on vertigo is dose dependent, the dosage should be increased progressively.

Motion sickness: Adults: 25 mg may be taken 2 hours before the start of the journey and 12.5 mg to 25 mg may be repeated every 8 hours during the journey when necessary. Children 8 to 12 years: 12.5 mg (Half a tablet) three times daily when necessary. Children 5 to 7 years: 6.25 mg (quarter tablet) three times daily when necessary.

How supplied: Novertigo tablets in blister pack of 5x10’s.
