POFOL

Pofol is propofol, the modern anesthetic agent known as TIVA (Total Intravenous Anesthesia) containing 200mg propofol in 20ml which is a sterile oil-in-water emulsion made for IV injection. Pofol is a short acting IV anesthesia agent inducing smooth and rapid anesthesia within one arm-brain circulation (approx 30 sec.)

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Strong sedative effect.

INDICATIONS

All general surgeries, neurosurgeries, ophth surgeries, ENT surgeries, cardiac surgery, abdominal surgery, gynae & obs., orthopedic surgeries. In ICU's for sedation.

DOSAGE

• Adults            :- 2-2.5 mg/kg titration 40mg every 10sec against 
• Children         :- 9-15 mg/kg/hr
• ICU Sedation :- Intial 0.6 mg/kg/hr increment 0.3-0.6 mg/kg/hr
• Maintenance   :- 0-0.4 mg/kg/hr
