Composition:
Protirelin tartrate 0.732 mg (as protirelin 0.5 mg)
Description: Probrin is an analogue of TRH (Thyrotropin
Releasing Hormone), a neuromodulator localized in various parts of
central nervous system such as hippocampus and reticular formation. It
produces arousal effect and analeptic action, Protirelin tartrate also
antagonizes endogenous opioids thus improves spinal cord blood flow
after spinal cord injury.
Indications:
Dosage: For intravenous injection, Probrin is
reconstituted with 5-10 ml of physiological saline, glucose or
distilled water for injection and administered at a very slow rate.
Disturbance of consciousness after head trauma: 1-4 ampoules daily for
10 days by single intravenous injection or intravenous drip infusion.
Continuous disturbance of consciousness after subarachnoid hemorrhage:
4 ampoules by single intravenous injection or intravenous drip
infusion. Treatment should be continued depending upon the severity of
the condition. Spinal cord injury: 1-4 ampoules daily for 10 days by
single intravenous injection or intravenous drip infusion.
