tablet of Secondax forte contains Secnidazole 1gm.
Description: Secondax is the brand name of
secnidazole, is a synthetic derivative of the nitromidazole series.
Indications and dosage: Secondax forte is
indicated for the treatment of
Usual recommended dose:
Adults: Two tablets (2 gm) single dose treatment.
Children: 30mg /kg body weight as a single dose.
The dose preferably be taken during a meal.
Hepatic amoebiasis:
Adult: 3 tablets of 500mg (1.5gm) as a single dose for
5 days.
Children: 30mg /kg body weight as a single or divided
doses before meals for 5 days. In suppurative hepatic amoebiasis,
Secondax therapy should be complemented by abscess drainage.
How supplied: Secondax Forte (1gm) tablets are
supplied in blister pack of 2 tablets.
